Working Together to Support the School.
Every day students in fourth grade are working to not only improve their learning, but to become a well-rounded individual. Essential skills of collaboration, perseverance, responsibility, self-advocacy, and respect are practiced routinely during the school day.
Two of these skills were put to the test when students made a tie fleece blanket.
First, students had to cut fleece fabric. Many students quickly realized cutting fleece in a straight line was difficult, but they didn’t give up. They persevered and continued cutting the strips, asking for help when needed. After preparing the fabric, students then had the opportunity to tie the pieces together using a double knot.
Fourth grade will be donating this blanket to the Olympia West PTO to be auctioned off at Family Fun Night held March 4th.
