Third graders have been busy learning about honeybees and pollination.  To practice text connections, students read books explaining all the different jobs that honeybees have and how a bee hive operates.  During science, third graders learned about how important bees are for the pollination of flowers.  Beekeeper, Mike Lavazza, brought an observation bee hive containing approximately 2,500 bees so students could see bees working in the hive.  Third graders were able to observe the queen bee and her circle of attendants, drones, and worker bees with full pollen sacs.  Observing the bees is definitely something that third graders will be buzzing about for awhile!
