Grandparent’s Day 2017

Grandparents were found at Olympia West on Friday, October 27th. There were 280 grandparents roaming the halls, doing crafts with their grandchildren, eating donuts and shopping at the Scholastic book fair.

Olympia West took the morning to honor grandparents and to remember the important impact they have on our children’s lives today. The day kicked off with donuts and coffee in the gym followed by grandparents being escorted to their grandchild’s class by the student council members. Once in the proper class they were then involved with various activities from painting, listening to speeches, estimating how big a pumpkin was and experiencing Kindergarten center time and much, much more! The day was concluded with a school wide assembly where students celebrated having Grandparents in their lives. Each Grandparent had a chance to win a prize for the grandparent that traveled the furthest, the oldest Grandparent, the Grandparent that had the most grandchildren attending Olympia West and many more.

It was a fun filled day at Olympia West! Thank you to all the Grandparents who came out to join us in this wonderful, exciting day.
