Olympia West celebrates our Veterans! Thank you Veterans!

Congratulations to Makinli and Ethan for being Spartan ticket winners! They chose to read a book to the kindergarten classes as their incentive.

Olympia West recognized our amazing bus drivers and aides today. Thank you for all you do for our students! You are one of the first people they see in the morning and help deliver them safely to school in good weather and bad. Happy Bus Driver Appreciation Day!

Olympia 4th graders visited OMS today so that 8th grade students could explain electricity to them using materials from ISU's CeMaST program. Thank you Jake Steve for making this possible!

Fourth grade visited OMS to learn about electrical circuits from Mr. Steve’s 8th grade science class.

Power has been restored to the high school. There will still be interruptions in services for the morning until everything can be brought back on line. We thank you for your continued patience, and will update you when everything is operating normally!

Looking forward to Grandparents Day tomorrow at Olympia West!

Mrs. Ruppert teaches first graders the importance of being unique and treating others kindly with a fun fall read aloud and her good pal puppy!

**Phone Update**
Phone service has been restored to all buildings. A huge shout out to Olympia graduate Ryan Komnick from Frontier for investigating the issue and coming to our rescue! We hear it involved a few mice-chewed lines!
Thanks Ryan! #OlySpartanPride

Reminder: the weekend storm knocked out the phone lines at OHS, OMS, and the District Office and they are still down today; Oct. 1.
Elementary buildings are not affected. The phone company is working on fixing the issue. There is no estimate on when the issue will be resolved, but we will issue an update as soon as it is back up and running.
If you need to contact the affected buildings, please dial 309-963-4514 and use the appropriate extension for your party. Phone extensions can be found on each school's website under Links > Staff.

#DigCit
In a time of 24/7 connectivity, do the benefits of online sharing outweigh the risks? In October, our digital citizenship focus will be on the topic of Digital Footprint & Identity. Look for posts throughout the month!
