OHS students and teachers attended the Annual History Symposium sponsored by the ISU History Department and ROE #17. The symposium was held in a virtual format this year, so students and teachers set up spaces in the OHS auditorium to attend a variety of breakout sessions with other students and educators around the state of Illinois. Sessions varied from topics on teaching strategies for culturally diverse lessons to helping students create community through student organizations and finding their voice. Both students and teachers are looking forward to sharing their experiences from the symposium with others at OHS.

Congratulations to Kate Berry & Rebecca Meissner on receiving a grant from the Illinois Digital Educator Alliance for Green Screens! Green screens, once a staple of any special effects film studio, are now becoming an exciting and realistic addition for any classroom. High School wrestling will begin contact day practices on Monday Jan. 25th after school. Remember to register on 8to18, have a current physical turned in and a signed Covid release form.
HS Dance – will resume practice after school at Oly West on Jan 26th.
HS Cheer – time and date of practice will be announced at a later time.
HS Girls Basketball will resume practice on Jan 21st after school in the high school gym.
HS Boys Basketball V and JV will resume practice on Jan. 20th after school in the high school gym. Freshman Boys will practice after school at North on Jan. 20th - shuttles will run to and from practice. All boys will practice before school on Jan. 21st at the HS.
