Attention Olympia Parents! Please see the attached flyer for Parent Care and Share. The goal for these meetings is for parents to connect, discuss struggles, and learn from one another in order to best help their child. Meetings take place monthly every 2nd and 4th Saturday.

Congratulations to the Olympia High School Speech Team on their first competition of the season! It was great to start our season at home! Olympia walked away with two tournament champions. Beatrice Harbaugh in Poetry and Grace Melick in Oratorical Declamation!

Fabulous job today by the Olympia boys XC team for claiming a Sectional Title for the first time in school history. The Spartans (with 60 team points) were able to hold off the always-tough-to-beat Elmwood Trojans(92 points). Charlie Kistner was Olympia’s top runner, finishing in 5th place at 15:45. Jon Neville followed closely behind him in 6th place at 15:47. Next was Logan Wheeler in 12th place at 16:05, Anthony Ragland in 18th place at 16:23, Lucas Lawless in 21st place at 16:29, Owen Dare in 25th place at 16:36, and then Parker Kistner at 17:38. Great job guys and good luck next week!

Congrats to the girls XC team for a 3rd place finish at the Elmwood Sectional meet today! The top 5 teams from each of the 5 sectional meets advance to the IHSA State Meet next Saturday at Detweiller Park. Junior Savanah Beavers was the top runner for the Spartans, finishing 4th place with an all-time personal record of 18:06. Behind her were Maddie Litwiller (all-time PR 19:51), Ellen Springer (20:01), Anna Bieber (20:03), Bailey Rogers (all-time PR 20:58), Sydnee Usherwood (21:11), and Madison Bales(21:33). Great job gals and good luck at State!

Congrats to the Olympia boys XC team for being Regional champs at the Regional meet hosted by Olympia today, advancing them to the Sectional meet at Elmwood next Saturday. All 7 runners had season or all-time personal records! Oly’s top runner was Charlie Kistner (2nd place medalist), tying the school record with a time of 15:23! Behind him were Jon Neville (4th place medalist at 15:46), Logan Wheeler (5th place medalist at 15:47), Dylan Bennet (16:03), Owen Dare(16:19), Lucas Lawless (16:26), and Carter Fairfield (16:38). The prelim football game on Friday Oct. 23rd has been cancelled. The varsity game will now start at 7:00pm. Senior night recognition will start at 6:40pm.

Congratulations to the boys’ XC team on their win today at the 17-team St. Anthony Bulldog Classic Invite. They had a season low score of 17 points by finishing 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, & 6th. Charlie Kistner led the pack in 15:06, Jon Neville ran 15:32, Logan Wheeler ran 15:38, Dylan Bennet ran 16:01, and Owen Dare was Olympia’s 5th man in 16:03. Lucas Lawless and Carter Fairfield ran 16:18 and 16:28, finishing in 12th and 13th place. The Spartans host the IHSA Regional meet next Saturday. The girls will race at 10:00 and the boys will start at 10:45. Good luck Spartans!

The girls’ cross country team finished 4th today at the Bulldog Classic Invite in Effingham. Savanah Beavers finished in 1st place with a time of 18:01, defending her title from last year. Anna Bieber was 16th, Ellen Springer was 18th, Maddie Litwiller finished in 20th place, and Sydnee Usherwood & Bailey Rogers finished in 32nd and 37th respectively to round out Olympia’s scoring. Nice job Lady Spartans!

Power has been restored to the high school. There will still be interruptions in services for the morning until everything can be brought back on line. We thank you for your continued patience, and will update you when everything is operating normally!

The freshmen football game scheduled for today October 17th has been cancelled.

Tomorrow - 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students will take the PSAT. Seniors WILL NOT be in attendance. Students who have a Spartan Card may leave when the testing is done. We ask that you not call your student out after testing without a valid cause - doctor's note is required.

The JV Football game scheduled for today, Oct. 14th has been cancelled.

Michigan State University college rep, Steve Landgraf, visited high school math, English, and social studies classes to discuss college admissions at a large university as well as majors relating to those subjects.
