preschool screenings

The Olympia School District will have preschool screenings on Wednesday, January 26, 2022.  Preschool screenings are available for children age three through five. This is a process to determine where children fall developmentally in areas such as motor skills, concepts, language, and behavior. Based on the results of the screening, a recommendation will be made to let you know if your child qualifies for the program.  This screening is mandatory for children to qualify for the Pre-K program.

We will have one screening date for all students in the District.  The screenings will take place at the Atlanta Christian Church (300 NE 3rd Street, Atlanta).

PLEASE NOTE: Your child must be 3 years old on or before the day of the screening.  Also if your student was previously screened on an earlier screening date with our District, they DON'T need to be screened again.  Once a student is screened, they are either accepted into the preschool program at that time or put on the waitlist.  Students remain on the waitlist until there is an opening in Pre-K for them or they age out and go to Kindergarten.

If you are interested in having your child screened, please click HERE and complete the Google form.  An email will be sent afterwards with an appointment time and needed paperwork.

If you have any questions or issues with the form, please contact Ami Lawson at the District Office: ami.lawson@olympia.org, 309-379-6011 ext 1127.   If for any reason, school is cancelled or there are gathering restrictions on a screening date, the DIAL preschool screenings will also be cancelled and a makeup session will be scheduled at a later date.
