Olympia's girls bowling team competed at the Regional tournament in Morton yesterday. The team fought hard and earned a 5th-place finish at Regionals, competing with toughness, composure, and pride from start to finish. Though the top 4 advanced to Sectionals, each girl bowled well and even above their average majority of the day.

A big congratulations to Seniors, Nevaeh Kashner, who placed 9th overall and 3rd among advancing individuals to earn a spot at Sectionals in Joliet next Friday.

In honor of School Counselor Appreciation Week, we want to give a huge shout out to Mrs. Becky Leenerman, who does so much to make Olympia Middle School a caring, supportive place for our students. Becky works tirelessly behind the scenes and face-to-face with kids, always showing up with patience, kindness, and a genuine commitment to helping students succeed.

She is a strong advocate for our students and never stops encouraging them to believe in themselves and grow into the best version of who they can be. We are incredibly grateful for the heart she brings to our school each day. Thank you, Mrs. Leenerman, for everything you do!

🎶 Our 4th–5th Grade After-School Choir Is Off to a Great Start! 🎶 Three weeks ago, we launched a new after-school choir for 4th and 5th graders who love music and want more opportunities to sing beyond the regular school day. Students are already building skills, confidence, and a deeper love for music. We’re proud to continue expanding the fine arts and giving students more ways to grow through music. Thank you to our families and community for supporting choir and arts education! 💙🎤

🎶 What an Incredible Week at ILMEA All-State 2026! 🎶 This week, students from across Illinois came together for the Illinois Music Education Association (ILMEA) All-State Festival—one of the most prestigious honors a young musician in our state can achieve. Each year, thousands of talented students audition, and only a small percentage are selected through a highly competitive, blind audition process. Being named an All-State musician represents exceptional skill, dedication, and countless hours of practice. We are incredibly proud to share that 11 Olympia students earned this honor in 2026! We had four sixth grade students that were accepted into the elementary All-State Chorus. Our other seven students were high school students. Five of them were selected for the All-State chorus and two were selected for the All-State Honors Chorus. Less than 600 HS choir students in the state of Illinois are chosen for these two choirs to give a little more background. For OHS to have SEVEN was a huge deal, and we are beyond proud. Their love for music, passion for excellence, and commitment to their craft truly shined on this statewide stage. The musical excellence at All-State is always inspiring, and this week was no exception. Congratulations to our students for representing Olympia with such talent, heart, and pride. 💙🤍🎶
