The Spartans (1-0) won 67-54 in their opening game in the GCMS Thanksgiving Tournament against Hoopeston. Senior Dylan Nowaskie led the way for the Spartans with a tournament-tied and school-record 44 points. Senior Ben Tackett added 9 points as well. The Spartans never trailed in the game. The Spartans are back in action Wednesday night (6:30 pm) against Armstrong at GCMS.

Our PBIS team slashed prices, and students walked away with all kinds of goodies. Hundreds of tickets were spent this morning—and remember, each ticket represents an instance of our amazing students displaying Respect, Responsibility, and positive Relationships!

Varsity girls basketball traveled to the first ever Hornet Hoopsgiving Tournament at Eureka. The team improved so much over the three day tournament and Elyse Eimer earned an All Tournament Team selection! Congrats Elyse!

Thanks to our awesome cafeteria staff, we've rolled out a VIP Lunch Experience for OHS PBIS winners. Two students are drawn every other week for a chance to invite their friends to a VIP lunch - no lines, table service, and a special menu to choose from. Hope y'all enjoyed the first VIP lunch!!

The Olympia Speech Team hosted their home meet on Saturday. Even with less than half of the full team they finished with 10 Finalists and 2 Tournament Champions - Piper Jones in JV Original Comedy and Angela Barger in Impromptu Speaking! Way to go Spartans!

The OMS Boys Basketball team traveled to Washington last night to take on Washington MS. The 7th grade team won a nailbiter 38 - 36 with Isaiah Gaither and Luke Milligan leading the team in scoring with 13 points apiece. The 8th grade team had a dominant second half going on a 35 - 5 run winning 63 - 34. Will Langley led the team in scoring with a career high 29 points followed by Easton Boudeman with 12 points. The Spartans are back in action Saturday with a double header against Auburn and North Mac. Go Spartans!

At the November Board meeting, the Olympia Middle School Cross Country State Qualifiers were recognized. Coaches Brianna Tresemer and Brent Shedd shared that both Emma E. (8th grade, pictured) and Kayleigh V. (7th grade) had great seasons, showcasing their strength, determination, and perseverance. Both athletes earned numerous medals throughout the season and qualified for state with Kayleigh placing 33rd and Emma placing 49th out of 220 runners at the State competition.

The OMS Boys Basketball team had their first home game last night against Kingsley. The 7th Grade team played hard the entire time and stopped their 2 game skid with a 33 - 24 victory. Isaiah Gaither led the team in scoring with 16 points followed by Reece Peifer with 8 points. The 8th Grade team had a gritty victory battling injuries throughout the game winning 51 - 40. Will Langley led the squad with 14 points followed by Easton Boudeman with 12 and Tate Lindsey with 9. The Spartans will be back in action Thursday at Washington MS at 5.
