Nolan Birky’s Clutch Hitting Propels Olympia Junior Varsity Spartans To Victory Over Havana 21-7. TY Gale earned the win for Olympia Junior Varsity Spartans. The starter surrendered three hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out five and walking none. Maness and Labelle each appeared in relief for Olympia Junior Varsity Spartans. Olympia Junior Varsity Spartans amassed 18 hits in the game. Birky and White were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected four hits for Olympia Junior Varsity Spartans while hitting back-to-back. Clock GC recap for full story.

Varsity Lady Spartans Soccer gets a hard fought gritty tie 3-3 tonight against a very physical IVC team. Girls fought and did not give up, all three goals coming off the foot of Junior Elyse Eimer. Senior Anna Johnson with another great performance in goal racking up 15 saves. Girls return to action on Monday as they travel to Athens.
Varsity baseball gets a 15-0 win tonight vs Illini Central. Wilson and Olson(4RBI, 2B, 3B) with two hits apiece. Berlin, Sloan and Phares with a hit apiece. Wilson (4IP, 9K). Spartans are back on the road tomorrow vs East Peoria at the Eastside Center at 4:30.

Varsity baseball held on to a 6-4 win at Central Catholic tonight. LaBelle(2H,RBI). Berlin, Pierce, Springer, Tackett(2RBI) and Olson with a hit apiece. Sloan(6IP, ER, 8K), LaBelle(Sv). Spartans are home tomorrow vs Illini Central at 4:30.

The JV Baseball game scheduled for today at Eureka has been cancelled due to wet field conditions. The JV softball game scheduled for today vs. Williamsville has been moved to Williamsville due to a wet field at Olympia. The varsity baseball game at Central Catholic today is on as scheduled.
A great team win for the varsity softball Spartans tonight at Williamsville, defeating the Bullets 4-2 to improve to 2-0 in conference play and 13-4 overall.
Varsity baseball battled hard but came up short 4-2 at Williamsville. Pierce, Berlin, Sloan and LaBelle with a hit apiece. Walker (6IP, 2K). Spartans are at Central Catholic tomorrow at 4:30.
Olympia Junior Varsity Spartans Make Comeback Attempt, But Fall To Bloomington Central Catholic 11-12.
Olympia Junior Varsity Spartans collected 11 hits in the game. Alexander, Birky, and Gale each collected two hits for Olympia Junior Varsity Spartans. Maness and Kam White were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in three runs for Olympia Junior Varsity Spartans. Olympia Junior Varsity Spartans had patience at the plate, collecting seven walks for the game. Ethan Labelle and Alexander led the team with two free passes each. Gale stole two bases. Olympia Junior Varsity Spartans ran wild on the base paths, accumulating four stolen bases for the game.

Varsity softball defeated Heyworth 11-2 at Olympia tonight. The Varsity Spartans will return to conference play tomorrow at Williamsville. JV softbal will host Williamsville JV on Wednesday.

Ethan Labelle pitched three innings in relief for Olympia Junior Varsity Spartans. The hurler allowed one hit and one run while, striking out five and walking one. Rhett Alexander started the game for Olympia Junior Varsity Spartans. The pitcher surrendered two hits and two runs (zero earned) over two innings, striking out one and walking three. Colby Maness and Alexander were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Olympia Junior Varsity Spartans.

Varsity gets a 16-2 win today over Cornerstone on OPBA Day. Walker(3H), Pierce and Olson(3RBI) with two hits apiece. Wilson, Berlin(2RBI) and Tackett with a hit apiece. Pierce(5IP, 10K). Spartans are at Williamsville Tuesday at 4:30.
The varsity lady Spartans drop a hard fought game at Monticello today 7-0. The girls fought hard for 50 minutes holding them 2-0, but down a man and the attack for the Sages finally broke through. Girls return to action Thursday as they travel to IVC.
Varsity softball with a 17-0 win at Morton tonight to improve to 11-4 overall. The Lady Spartans will host Heyworth for a varsity only game on Monday.
Varsity baseball led 5-4 after five innings but fell to Tri Valley 10-5. Walker, Wilson, Pierce, Springer, Martin, and Berlin with a hit apiece. Salvator(5.1IP, 3K) Spartans are home Saturday vs Cornerstone at 10:00 for OPBA Day!
