Today's Activities

The OHS girls track and field season is wrapping up quickly. I wanted to give a little recap of conference meet before our sectional meet on May 13th at Metamora.  Last Wednesday on May 6th, the Lady Spartans competed at the Sangamo Coference Championships at Williamsville High School. The girls battled the cooler temperatures but found a way to get it done! We had multiple all conference finishes and one conference champion! Those consist of: Our 4x100 m relay got a 5th place finish with a time of 51.63! The runners consisted of Anna Piro, Charlee Durham, Madyson Bridgeforth, and Gabby Dickhut!  Our 4x200 m relay got a 4th place finish with a time of 1:51.79! The runners consisted of Anna Piro, Charlee Durham, Madyson Bridgeforth, and Gabby Dickhut!  Gabby Dickut placed 4th in the 100m dash with a time of 13.11! She also got a 4th place finish in the 200m dash with a time of 26.95! Mira Kistner was a conference champion in the 800m run, with a time of 2:28.09! We also had a 5th place finisher in the 800m run which was Natalie Petri with a time of 2:57.27! Juliet Williams was a 5th place finisher in the 1600m run with a time of 6:19.73!  Our 4x400m relay had a 4th place finish with a season best time of 4:22.21! The runners consisted of Charee Durham, Mira Kistner, Makendra Kreichgauer (PR split of 1:07.3), and Madyson Bridgeforth.  In the field events: Charlee Durham finished 3rd in the long jump with a jump of 5.11m (16’ 9”). Anna Piro finished 4th with a jump of 5.05m (16’ 6”).  In the triple jump, Makendra Kreichgauer had a 6th place finish with a PR at 9.40m (30’ 10”).  In the discus Kennedi Craig finished 4th with a throw of 27.88m (91’ 5”).  Congratulations to ALL of the girls. As a team we finished 5th place overall out of 11 teams! That is something to be proud of!  On Wednesday, May 13th the team will travel to Metamora High School to compete in the IHSA sectional finals. Come on out and cheer on the team! Field events start at 4:00 pm and running starts at 5:30 pm.

Olympia Junior Varsity Spartans Firing On All Cylinders Against Normal University winning 12-2 today. Olympia Junior Varsity Spartans got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Nolan Birky doubled, scoring two runs, and Kam White singled, scoring one run. Ty Gale earned the win for Olympia Junior Varsity Spartans. The starter surrendered four hits and two runs (zero earned) over five innings. Birky drove the middle of the lineup, leading Olympia Junior Varsity Spartans with three runs batted in. The second baseman went 1-for-1 on the day. Rhett Alexander led Olympia Junior Varsity Spartans with two hits in two at bats. Olympia Junior Varsity Spartans turned one double play in the game.

JV Softball won the Washington tournament today, going 2-1 on the day, improving to 17-6 on the season. Congratulations Lady Spartans! Olympia JV defeated U-High JV 10-2 Olympia JV defeated Washington JV 5-4 Olympia JV lost to Normal Community 2-8

Yesterday we celebrated our I Choose You luncheon at OHS 💙

Staff members selected students who consistently demonstrate kindness, perseverance, growth, positivity, and character throughout the school year. We are so proud of the students who help make OHS a supportive and welcoming environment each day.

In thier last regular season home game last night, the Varsity Softball Spartans shutout 3A state-ranked East Peoria 7-0. The Spartans improve to 24-7 overall. Varsity & JV will travel to Monticello on Monday. JV will be at the Washington tournament today with games at 10:45, 12:30 & 2:15.

Varsity baseball falls to Pekin at home tonight 10-1. Walker(2H). Sloan, Springer(RBI), Tackett and Salvator with a hit apiece. Sloan(4.1IP, 1ER, 6K) and Pierce(2.2IP, 0ER, 3K). Spartans are on the road vs Delavan Tuesday at 4:30.

Today's Activities

Varsity Softball defeated Athens 4-3 tonight to finish 8-0 in conference play and are the SANGAMO conference champions. The Lady Spartans improve to 23-7 overall and will host East Peoria tomorrow at 4:30 pm.

Olympia Junior Varsity Spartans baseball team easily dispatched Warrensburg-Latham on Thursday, 8-2. Olympia Junior Varsity Spartans jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the third inning after Warrensburg-Latham committed an error, Ethan Labelle doubled to center field, Colby Maness walked, and Brody Stork singled to center field, each scoring one run. Ty Gale stepped on the hill first for Olympia Junior Varsity Spartans. The starting pitcher surrendered one hit and one run (zero earned) over two and two-thirds innings, striking out six and walking one. Labelle led Olympia Junior Varsity Spartans with two hits in three at bats. Maness, Labelle, Rhett Alexander, and Stork each drove in one run for Olympia Junior Varsity Spartans. Varsity baseball get a home conference win vs Athens tonight 4-2. Sloan(3H, HR, 2B, 3RBI). Wilson, Pierce, Tackett and Martin with a hit apiece. LaBelle(7IP, 1ER). Spartans are at home tomorrow vs Pekin at 4:30.

Varsity baseballs comeback fell a little short Wednesday night in Mackinaw and lost 12-9. Pierce(3H, 3RBI), Springer(2H). Sloan(HR, 3RBI), Berlin, Salvator, LaBelle with a hit apiece.

Today's Activities

Lady Spartans Soccer continues hot streak as the defeat IVC tonight 1-0 on Senior Night. The lone goal came off the foot of Junior Elyse Eimer, as she continued the record setting year breaking the season goal record tonight with 24 goals and counting. We are so thankful for all the hard work these seniors have put in this year as well as the years before. We wish you guys all the success in your future endeavors. Lady Spartans return to action Thursday as they travel to St. Thomas More.

The softball game vs Athens today and the varsity baseball game vs. Athens as well as the JV baseball game vs. Normal Community are all cancelled for today. Coaches will communicate about practice.
