Last Friday, Olympia Middle School students enjoyed a special opportunity to take part in teacher-led clubs during an extended advisory period. These club days are a favorite at OMS—held on the first Friday of each month—and give teachers a chance to share their hobbies and passions with students in a fun, hands-on way.

With more than 25 clubs to choose from, students can explore a wide range of interests, including Sign Language, Junk Journaling, 3D Printing, Birdwatching, Yoga, and No-Bake Cooking, just to name a few! The building was filled with excitement as students tried new things, learned new skills, and connected with friends and teachers outside the regular classroom routine.

It was wonderful to see so many smiles and hear so much laughter as students discovered new interests and talents. We can’t wait to do it all again when OMS Clubs meet next on Friday, November 7th!

The EPG Invite at Furrow Farms is known for being a straight-up beast of a course, with a really fun theme each year. This years theme was the movie Cars. Several teams had creative costumes which is what makes this race so much fun! Despite the challenging course the Oly girls persevered and made memories in the varsity and open races! Huge congrats to Mira on a top-ten finish! She powered through the treacherous terrain for 10th place in the Varsity Girls race (21:54). The 3 mile course was a first for Natalie (26:16), Juliet (25:23), Leah (30:28) and Chloe (31:12). Every single runner left it all out there. We had a great time and built some serious toughness!

At practice today, our middle school cross country team went on a “trash run”. On this run, the kids tried to pick up as much trash as they could around the school. This was the result. We are proud of how dedicated they were to cleaning up our campus!
