Kindergartners at West learned about turtles for letter T week. They counted turtle double ten frames, found a letter/sight word/color word in "turtle eggs", played a turtle sight word game, and listened to turtle stories on Epic!

The Freshman Girls basketball game scheduled for tonight, Nov 21st has been cancelled. There is no practice.

Lady Spartans open up the basketball season with a 49 to 13 win over Mt. Pulaski at the Clinton Tourney.

Congratulations to the Olympia Speech Team who competed at the Richwoods High School Tournament over the weekend. Special congratulations to Morgan Cisco who placed first in JV Original Comedy and to Grace Melick who placed first in Varsity Oratorical Declamation.


Congratulations to the 200 Medley Relay team of Abby Litwiller, Grace Castleman, Isabelle Forrest and Madi Noreuil for breaking the F/S school record from 1997 with a time of 2:03.55 at the sectional meet.


Girls Swim Sectional is underway at Normal West.


OHS celebrated college/career readiness with a Pathway Day today! Ten speakers, including 4 alumni, visited OHS to share their career knowledge with students. Students were exposed to speakers from 8 career pathways as well as college admissions. It's a great day to be a Spartan!





Winter Spartan Night is Friday Nov. 15th at 5:30pm in the high school gym. We will start the evening off by honoring our State placing Boys Cross Country team with a reception following in the cafeteria. Then we will introduce our winter activities with scrimmages to follow.

Elementary teachers participated in a training for the new English Language Arts materials they are utilizing within their classrooms. Wednesday, teachers learned how to effectively use the Interactive Read Aloud grade level resources as well as the phonics, word study and spelling resource.


Our third grade MTSS group is practicing sequencing. They learned if they follow the steps in order they can make ice cream! #OlySpartanPride
